“I’m squirreling them away for the future,” said McAnally, who could buy five almost-new 2007 Toyota Camrys for the price of one of his former Monte Carlos. “Next season, if we wreck a car, we can roll out a new one.”

In 2008, McAnally’s team is switching from Chevrolets to Toyotas, which made their Cup debut in 2007. His timing could not be better.

And New Zealand driver Rhys Millen , who lives in San Juan Capistrano, Calif., plans the first-ever attempt to drive an off-road racing truck up a ramp and then into a back flip before landing.

Maddison’s jump is scheduled for midnight East Coast time.

Millen’s ride is at midnight Pacific time.

And surprise, the folks from the Guinness World Book of Records will be in attendance.

Hamilton was clocked going 123 mph in a Mercedes on the A26 highway near the northern town of Laon, France, on Sunday night. And surprise, surprise — his driver’s license has been suspended for a month.

“He recognized the infraction he had committed straight away,” police spokesman Arnaud Dujardin said by telephone.

Well, at least you can say the 22-year-old McLaren driver, who won four races last season, is a nice guy.
