The Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix remains the second-to-last race of the IndyCar series season in 2008.

The 16-race schedule that, as expected, does not include a race at Michigan International Speedway, was released Tuesday. The series opens March 29 under the lights at Homestead-Miami Speedway and concludes Sept. 7 at Chicagoland Speedway.

Racing returns to Detroit on the Belle Isle temporary road course Aug. 29-31.
